Join Our St George's Family
Do you have a child due to start school in September 2027? Choosing a school for your child can be quite daunting and prospective parents often have lots of questions about the school and the process they need to follow.
In deciding where you would like your child to go to school, it is really important to find out as much as you can about the schools themselves.
We welcome parents to make specific appointments to visit the school at any point during the academic year and we would ask you to arrange this with the office.
St. George's is a one-form entry Primary School, meaning that we admit 30 children per year into each year group; this is called our PAN.
Admission is decided on the following factors:
- Looked After Child
- Sibling Link
- Special Educational Need with an Education Health and Care Plan
- Distance
If you are considering St. George's as an option for your child and they have a disability, it is advisable to contact the school so that we can discuss any adaptations that need to be made, before admission.
The local authority (LA) deals with all admissions for children starting school for the first time and the link below will direct you to the Kent County Council website where you will find all the information that you require. If you have a child in any other year group, and would like to enquire about places, then please do so directly through the school office.
The school follows the LA’s admissions policy, a copy of which is available from the link below. KCC oversubscription criteria is outlined below the following images and further admissions' documents can be accessed at the bottom of this page.
All information can be found on the Kent County Council Website

Summer born children
If your child was born between 1 April and 31 August and you want them to defer starting school until the next academic year, read our information about summer born children.
Special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) children
Most children with special educational needs and disabilities can attend mainstream schools, whether or not they have an education, health and care (EHC) plan.
If your child has an EHC plan, then their school placement will be arranged via the SEN Team.
Find out more about applying for a school place for your SEND child.
Additional information
You may need to fill in an additional form called a Supplementary Information Form (SIF) for some schools.
Contact the school(s) to obtain the form(s) and once completed return the form directly to them.
Free schools
There are no new free schools opening in 2026.
