Our Vision

Our Vision

St George’s Vision

At St George’s CE Primary School, we believe every child is uniquely valued and created by God. We nurture curious minds, caring hearts and confident spirits. Inspired by Jesus’ words, “Let your light shine” (Matthew 5:16), we nurture curious minds, caring hearts and confident spirits encouraging each child to grow in faith, character and learning, so they can flourish academically, socially, spiritually, morally and culturally. We celebrate individuality, foster resilience and build aspiration, helping children understand themselves and the world around them. Through our inclusive and joyful community, children are supported to become thoughtful, respectful and compassionate citizens who shine with kindness, courage and hope in their school, homes and wider world.

How Live Out Our Vision at St George’s

We achieve our vision by providing a rich and ambitious curriculum rooted in Christian values. We help children explore faith, develop curiosity and understand diverse beliefs. Through encouraging questioning, reflection and respectful discussion. Our teaching is purposeful and inclusive, ensuring every child can access learning and experience success. We celebrate achievements, recognise strengths, nurture well-being and build strong relationships with families and the community. Through worship, service, creative opportunities and shared experiences, we guide children to grow in confidence and character — enabling them to ‘Bring faith and education together’ to “let their light shine” every day.

Children at our school learn about Christianity and world views; learning about the complexities of religious beliefs and their impact on society. They are encouraged to develop curiosity, empathy and respect, forming their own reasoned viewpoints while appreciating and valuing the views of others. This supports all children to become thoughtful, informed and compassionate citizens who contribute positively to their community and the wider world. They feel recognised, valued and able to contribute.

Our Aims & Christian Values

Our aim, through God’s guidance, is to provide a Christian atmosphere within a warm caring, secure learning environment where we allow every child to ‘let their light shine’ (Matthew 5:16).

We achieve this through:

  • Providing a broad, balanced, carefully planned curriculum with challenge and high expectations
  • Encouraging every child to fulfil their individual potential with understanding that of their own interests, strengths and needs that influence their learning
  • Providing rich experiences to expose hidden brilliance
  • Recognising and celebrating success in everyone
  • Inspire children and adults to make a difference to their school, their home and their local community

Our vision and aims are lived through our school values of RESPECT, COURAGE, KINDNESS, FORGIVENESS, HONESTY and HOPE. They breathe the life into our school that we live out each day.

The achievement of children and staff is paramount to us. We are committed to continuous reflection on the nurture and progress we provide at St. George’s. We want our school to be beacons that shine far and wide, lighting up our community with the light of Jesus through all that we do.

By learning about Christian values, by listening to the teachings of Jesus, and by following the example of Jesus, we say to every member of our community:

let your light shine.’
