Hazel Class

Welcome to Term 5 in  Hazel Class

I hope you all had a relaxing Easter break and are ready for our final two terms of Year 5. Hazel Class continue to shine their light in all they do, working so hard - I am very proud of all of them.

This term in Science we continue our longer unit on materials - with lots of exciting experiments to look forward to.  In Geography we will be investigating Rivers  - answering the big question 'Does water change the landscape?' Term 5 kicks off with a visit to Horton Kirby to investigate the river there. Our English text 'Journey to the River Sea' will also link to this. In RE this term, we will be investigating 'What does it mean to be a Muslim in Britain today?' Our knowledge organisers and curriculum map can be found on this page to give you more of an insight into what we will be learning. We will also be taking part in an 8 Billion Idea project 'Grow 24' - look out for more details about this on Class Dojo.

Our PE day this term is Tuesday. May I remind you that our PE kit consists of navy shorts and a house coloured t-shirt. Children should wear a school jumper/cardigan or fleece and they may also wear black plain tracksuit bottoms.  We also will have Forest School this term,  children should come to school in appropriate clothing. Please ensure children have long trousers, a waterproof and a change of shoes for this. On PE (and Forest School) days, hair must be tied back and no jewellery is to be worn. Thank you for your cooperation.

Keep an eye on Class Dojo as I will be posting updates as well as keeping you informed about what we are up to in class.

If you need to contact me, you can drop me a message on Class Dojo or call the office and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Thank you for your support.
